A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Wednesday night after police say she struck a power pole, then fled the scene by pushing her car home.

The accident happened about 10 pm, according to a news release. Police say a driver hit the power pole at the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Santa Fe trail. Deputies found the vehicle that collided with pole at a residence down the street.

Police determined that Kirsten Cooper was under the influence of alcohol and crashed into the pole, then pushed her car down the street to her house.

Cooper was arrested for hit and run and driving under the influence. The power pole was serviced and repaired by Southern California Edison.
