A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Monday after authorities say the conditions of her home was child neglect.

Sheriff’s deputies made a welfare check about 2 pm on Monday at a home on Indio Avenue. A deputy discovered “an overwhelming amount of animal feces and urine embedded in the carpet throughout the home,” according to Z107.7.

There were also other safety issues in the home that posed a threat to children. Three kids – ages 2, 3, and 8 – were taken into custody by Child Protective Services. The 2-year-old had an infection in her wrist which required treatment at Hi-Desert Medical Center.

Sara Haney, 31, was arrested on suspicion of child neglect.
