A Yucca Valley man told police he was robbed at gunpoint in a church parking lot on Sunday night by a man he thought he thought wanted to meet to pay back a loan.

The victim told police that he loaned the suspect $400 about four months ago, reports Z107.7. The men knew each other from church. The suspect told the victim to meet at another church parking lot on Lucerne Vista as he wanted to repay the debt.

When the victim arrived at the church about 7:30 pm, he found the suspect there with two other men in a dark Honda. The suspect says that the men got out of the car and pointed a gun at him. They made him open his trunk and then tied him to the steering wheel with a shoelace.

The man says that the suspects stole about $3,000 in power tools, then fled.
