Yucca Valley man accused of intentionally driving his car into Big Bear tree during fight with passenger

A Yucca Valley man was arrested after police say he intentionally rammed his vehicle into a tree in Big Bear Lake during a fight with a female passenger.

Police were called to a car crash on Lakeview Drive at about 10 am on Saturday, reports The Big Bear Grizzly. A woman passenger was in the vehicle and had suffered minor injuries.

She told authorities that she and the driver Raymond Moomey, 41, had been involved in an argument before the crash and that he allegedly crashed into the tree on purpose, then ran away.

Investigators later found Moomey at his Yucca Valley home on Papago Trail and arrested him on suspicion of attempted murder, felony spousal abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, according to Z107.7. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Wednesady and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
