Woman arrested for stealing ambulance on Las Vegas Strip, driving it to California

Police arrested a woman Friday after they say she stole an ambulance parked on the Las Vegas Strip and drove it 50 miles into California.

Paramedics parked the vehicle outside the Monte Carlo while they were treating another person, reports the Las Vegas Sun. The woman got into the ambulance and drove it away.

Authorities tracked the woman to the I-15 using a police helicopter and began to follow her. During the pursuit the woman drover over a curb while authorities tried to box her in and ran over a couple of spike strips which deflated two of the four rear tires, according to NBC Las Vegas.

The woman, who was not named now faces stolen property and other charges.
