Kevin The Cross-Country Cat has made it back home to South Carolina.
Kevin (yes, someone named their cat Kevin) had been missing from his South Carolina home for over a year and was able to make it all the California-Arizona border in a moving truck before being spotted.
His microchip identified him and he was then cared for at The Coachella Valley Animal Campus.
During his brief time in The Coachella Valley, Kevin became quite a celebrity – even spending some time being interviewed on the TV news:
But, Kevin’s stay was a short one, as two nonprofits booked him a plane ticket home on Wednesday night. “I thought he was gone forever,” his owner, Cheryl Walls, told WYFF as she waited for Kevin to arrive.
The homecoming was very sweet with Walls proclaiming, “Oh, my goodness, Kevin! You’ve gotten so big!” as she hoisted the feline in the air.
