Video shows Cranston Fire engulfing Highway 74

The Cranston Fire grew to over 7,500 acres on Thursday afternoon and jumped over Highway 74.

A KMIR crew was there when the flames spread across the highway just past Lake Hemet, near Hurkey Creek:

We are told there were two crews from the TV station in the area who were both able to escape the flames with one going in each direction.

California Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency for the area on Thursday as fire crews continue to take on the blaze – which, as of 4 pm, was just 5% contained.
