Two women were arrested in San Bernardino after police say they were begging people for money for a baby’s funeral that was not happening for a child that did not belong to either of them.

Chasity Doll, 26, of Loma Linda, was arrested after police say she was for panhandling with signs asking for donations to a baby’s funeral at the corner of Tippecanoe Avenue and Coulston Street, according to ABC 7. An hour later, Michele Love, 41, of Yucca Valley, was arrested at the same corner for doing the same thing.

Investigators found evidence showing that the two women were working together, reports The Sun.

Deputies quickly determined that the child on the signs did not belong to either woman and that there was no funeral.

The two women face charges of conspiracy to commit fraud.
