Two Marines arrested for street racing in Twentynine Palms

Two Marines from Twentynine Palms were arrested on Wednesday after police say they were spotted street racing.

During the unrelated traffic stop, a red Camaro and a black Mustang traveling southbound on Adobe Road honked their horns and revved their engines. The deputy then observed the vehicles accelerate to a high rate of speed and race door-to-door down Adobe Road, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Police then pulled over both vehicles in the lot of Circle K, near the intersection of Adobe Road and Two Mile Road.

Steven Gutierrez, 21, and Juan Infante, also 21-years-old, were arrested. They were subsequently released to United States Marine Corps personnel with citations. Both vehicles were impounded pursuant to California street racing laws.
