Two Cathedral City women arrested for mail theft

Two women were arrested for mail theft and drug possession in Cathedral City on Tuesday.

Officers responded to a call on Bel Aire Drive at about 10:15 am after the reporting party witness the theft, reports KMIR. Police quickly located the suspects around Terrace at Vista Road and detained them. The two suspects were also found to be in possession of meth, according to police.

Investigators believe the two women drove around the cove area stealing mail from residents. The alleged crime was also captured on surveillance camera, notes KESQ.

Sonia Mercado 28, and Mayra Cambron Osuna 29, were arrested for Mail Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
