Two breweries are teaming up for a good cause (and a really fun event!)

Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse and La Quinta Brewing Company are teaming up for a fun event at the end of October that will raise money for a great cause.

On October 28, shuttles will whisk those smart enough to grab a ticket to “Hops for Isaiah” before they sell out between Babe’s, the La Quinta Brewhouse, and the La Quinta Old Town Taproom between noon and 4pm. Participants will get two draft beers at each stop, there will be live entertainment, and you can even grab a VIP ticket to get some tasty barbecue. Tickets are just 59 bucks, 10 bucks more for VIP, and proceeds will benefit Hope 4 Isaiah.

Isaiah Hernandez is a 4 year old boy from Indio with Leukemia being raised by his mother Maria Lopez. Lopez told KESQ that as soon as the diagnosis came in for Isaiah, she quit her job to be at his side.

The two now make regular trips to Loma Linda Hospital for chemotherapy and treatment for its side effects.  While insurance has covered most of the medical costs, her bills and mortgage payments have piled up.  Lopez also cares for five other children and her mother was recently has been diagnosed with stage IV cancer.

“It has been very hard,” Lopez told Palm Springs Life.

But, you can help.

Grab your tickets for the “Hops for Isaiah” here.   Cactus Hugs is a proud sponsor of the event, so at the very least, you can hang out with me over a Blackfin Lager and an Even par IPA while you complain that Cactus Hugs doesn’t report enough the local music scene or is too liberal or is too mean to the city you live in.

Seriously though, it’s a good cause and it should be a fun day.  Plus it’s early enough that if you have a Halloween party to get to, you’ll still have plenty of time (and whatta way to pre-party!)
