Two arrested in Desert Hot Springs for transporting narcotics in stolen car

A man and a woman were arrested on Friday after police say they were transporting narcotics in a stolen vehicle.

Desert Hot Springs police officers were called to the area of Palm Drive and Hacienda Avenue about 11:18 am do to reports of a stolen vehicle in the area as the owner of a stolen Honda had tracked the car to the spot, according to a news release..

Authorities found the car parked at a residence and, five minutes later, a man and a woman got into the car and pulled out of the driveway. Police then made a high-risk vehicle stop.

After searching the vehicle, DHSPD officers say they found methamphetamine, heroin, and several types of prescription pills which were packaged in a way that indicated they were being sold.

Ashley Turcott, 28, of Palm Springs and Jonathon Buduan, 46, of Desert Hot Springs were arrested for possession and transportation charges. Buduan was also charged for possession of a stolen vehicle and violation of probation.
