The Marriott SpringHill Suites has finally opened in Palm Desert

(Marriott)

The site of the former Palm Desert Fairfield Inn, which saw a 4-alarm fire ravage the place five years ago, was reopened as a SpringHill Suites this weekend.

A quick check on the hotel’s website show rates for the 107-suite hotel on Highway 111 range between $175 and $209 for a room this week. Each of the rooms is classified as a suite at the hotel and each offers separate living, working and sleeping spaces – which include a custom, three-in-one West Elm sofa in every room that converts from a sofa to a daybed to a trundle bed.

There is also a couple of meeting rooms, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, a pool, and a fitness center, and a complimentary breakfast.  Plus, guests are close to the Walmart grocery store and across the street from Target, Best Buy, and Chipotle, so they have that going for them.

And, since you are wondering, I checked, and the hotel is showing as sold-out for both weekends of Coachella as well as the three days of the Stagecoach Country Music Festival, so expect that you will still have plenty of long lost friends messaging you to ask of the availability of your couch in April.
