Be prepared to drop more coin on those Thin Mints next time you grab a box 32 boxes outside the grocery store.

Several Girl Scout troops are raising the price of their cookies including Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio. So how much is a box of Caramel deLites going to run you from now on? Well the price is up 25%, to 5 bucks a box.

It is the first time that the price of the cookies has gone up in 11 years and, according to the website, it all has to do with inflation:

A price increase is necessary to keep up with the ever-increasing costs of running a nonprofit organization. Without an increase in price, we are unable to cover existing costs or provide for program enhancements, building repairs, or other investments on behalf of our membership. Also, our council believes strongly in a camp culture. We want to invest in improving our camps with an aging infrastructure that is an investment we simply cannot cover without additional funds. An increase to the cookies price would allow, for the first time, monies to be ear marked for properties.

The Girl Scouts do not expect the price increase to affect sales.
