The Back Way to Vegas Will Soon Be Less Awful

The back way to Vegas is usually a nice way to avoid most of the traffic on I-15 for Coachella Valley residents (plus you get to see Roy’s in Amboy! Just do not blink). But lately, the road itself has been pretty awful due to a plethora of potholes. Luckily, that is about to change.

Work has begun to repair many of the issues caused by bad weather and regular wear and tear on the route that links Twentynine Palms and Nevada. The Desert Sun reports that crews will be out to work on the following roads: Black Canyon, Essex, Ivanpah, Kelbaker, Kelso-Cima, Lanfair, Morning Star Mine, Cima and Zzyzk – none of them will be closed, but there may be delays during construction.

The work should be done by July at a cost of about $4.1 million – which, for the sake of your car’s suspension, is money well spent.
