Sweet Old Widower Still Takes His Late Wife Out to Eat With Him

One of the sweetest photographs you will ever see was taken inside of an In-N-Out Burger last week in Freemont, California

A patron of the restaurant caught this image of a man dining out with a picture of his late wife

“He has a picture of his wife with him as he eats! I love him”, she tweeted.

John Silva first met the woman who would become his bride while practicing with a minor league sports team in Massachusetts, according to a report from Bay Area Station KPIX 5.

“I don’t know how many players can say they met their wife at a practice,” John’s friend Lorena Ippolito told KPIX 5. “The ball rolled across the field and made its way to Hilda’s feet, and then John took one look and said that’s it. And he told her, ‘I’m going to take you out. I’m going to marry you someday.’”

But it wasn’t until 10 years later that the two crossed paths again, after Silva happened to see Hilda’s picture hanging on the wall at his boss’ home, Ippolito told the station.

“He said, ‘I recognize the picture on the wall, and I was chills all over and I think, oh my gosh, and I said that was her. That’s the girl I’ve been looking for ten years,’” Ippolito said.

A year later the couple was married, KPIX reported.

And five years after her death, they were still having dinner together.
