Suspect wanted for alleged sexual battery on La Quinta hiking trail

Police are looking for a man who is accused of sexual battery Monday morning on La Quinta’s Bear Creek Trail.

The victim told police she was walking along the Bear Creek Trail, when a Hispanic male grabbed her, in a sexual manner, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. The man then ran west on the trail.

The victim chased the suspect, but lost sight of him near the north end of Avenida Carranza.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 20-25 years old, about 5’10” tall, with a slim build, short dark hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, black under shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
