Things got super-weird in Studio City on Sunday night when police say a man threw a giant snake at some people who were just trying to enjoy a nice sushi dinner.

A man brought the roughly 13-foot-long python into Iroha Sushi of Tokyo at about 7:30 p.m. As KCBS reports, he grabbed the huge snake after getting into a spat with some of the other customers.

Hiroshi Motohashi, who ate a $200 meal at the sushi joint, had been showing a smaller snake to people in the restaurant – who told him to take it outside, according to employees. The man did take the snake out, but then returned with the huge python and threw it at the customers while yelling obscenities.

“We asked him like three or four times and he said, ‘no.’ He was like starting fights with the customers so we had to call the police and fire department,” Sissi Dashtort, a waitress at Iroha told KCBS.

Motohashi was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats.

The snake attempted to slither away, but got stuck.  Eventually, Animal Control freed the python and took it away.
