Student arrested for sending threatening email to Palm Springs High School

A 15-year-old Palm Springs High School student was arrested for making criminal threats targeting the school, police officials announced Wednesday.

The Palm Springs Police Department received information from school officials regarding an email threat they received from a student that targeted students and staff, according to a news release.

Police investigated and a 15-year-old Palm Springs High School student was identified as the suspect. A search warrant was obtained for the student’s home and was served on Monday.

The student was located at the residence and was taken into custody. There were no firearms located during the investigation.

The student was booked into the Indio Juvenile Hall on suspicion of Criminal Threats.
