A reported assault at the Thousand Palms Motel 6 in being investigated by the Riverside County Sheriffs Department.
The incident took place a little after midnight at the motel on Varner Road, according to KESQ.
Deputies arrived to find evidence of a fight in one of the motel’s guest rooms, but there was not a suspect or victim on the property.
One person was detained by police, but that person is not under arrest or listed as a suspect.
