You have to see the Super Bloom happening right now on this Coachella Valley trail

After the wettest winter in many years, the desert floor of the Coachella Valley is looking more like Ireland. One of the best hikes to catch some incredible views and photos of the Super Bloom is one that is more famous for its spectacular Oasis.

The Coachella Valley Preserve – Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve is 880 acres tucked into the Indio Hills, north of the 10 freeway in Thousand Palms. It is free to explore and is open everyday from 7 am to 6pm. And while may know the area for its palm woodland oasis and desert wetland – which you can see the moment you park your car – once you hike a little past it, the views of the spring bloom is just amazing.

My wife and I took to the trail on Sunday morning. After snapping a few photos of the oasis, we ventured out onto the Moon Country Trail and, well, wow…

Photos don’t really do it justice –  as the views were just incredible and really a once-in-a-decade opportunity.  And it wasn’t just about the wildflowers, there were a ton of lizards, caterpillars and other creatures.
