After a driver discovered that a kitten had gotten into their engine, San Bernardino fire personnel rescued the cute fur ball.

Juan Gloria, a fire equipment technician, heard a faint noise coming from the SUV which had pulled into a County Fire Department reuse location, reports the Press Enterprise. Officials realized it was a tiny kitten and Maintenance Specialist Jeff Pollack then took apart the SUV’s air filter and window washer fluid tank in order to get to where the kitten was stuck.

The driver had left the hood of the car open overnight and believed that is how the kitten had gotten inside.

After the rescue, fire officials gave the kitten to the driver of the SUV who has since found it a forever home.
