Riverside brothers accused of stealing $650 worth of 5-Hour Energy drinks

Two Riverside brothers were arrested over the weekend after police say they stole $650-worth of 5-Hour Energy drinks from a Grand Terrace Walgreens.

Police were called to the Walgreens store on Barton Road on Sunday afternoon after employees say that two men loaded dozens bottles of the energy drink into their 1996 Chevy truck without paying, according to a news release from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.

After tracking the license plate number of the truck, police went to the registered owner’s address and noticed the truck driving in the area, so officials pulled it over.

Jonathan Ortiz, 30, and Michael Ortiz, 29, were arrested and both were booked on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime and theft of retail property. The brothers were wearing the same clothes they wore during the crime, however the stolen drinks were not found.
