Those who can afford a $2,500 VIP Platinum ticket to the Palm Springs Film Festival Gala will be joined this year by actress Brie Larson (United States of Tara, Room) – who will be given the Breakthrough Performance Award.
The festival, which is given $350,000 in taxpayer dollars by the City of Palm Springs annually, begins on January 2nd.
For those who lacked the sufficient funds to get into the gala (minimum ticket to the sold out event was $350) to see celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, and Johnny Depp – the city is usually kind enough to set some bleachers up, behind a fence and across the street, where you might be lucky enough to see them get out of the car.
