Rancho Mirage checkpoint leads to 1 DUI arrest, 9 license citations

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has released the results of a DUI checkpoint that took place on March 7 at Dinah Shore Dr east of Key Largo Avenue in the eastbound lanes.

The checkpoint, which took place from 7 pm to 3 am, led to one arrest for DUI, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. In addition, nine drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, two additional citations were issued, and six vehicles were towed.

The department says that DUI Checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests. Last year Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Rancho Mirage investigated 15 DUI collisions that killed one person and injured 10 others.
