Rain is coming to the Coachella Valley this week. Here’s how much to expect.

While many of us have forgotten what life is like outside these days, you should be aware that there is a pretty big storm moving into Southern California early this week. Here’s how much rain you should expect in the Coachella Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, Palm Springs and the western part of the Coachella Valley should see somewhere between 0.7 inches to an inch of precipitation between Monday and Wednesday. As you move east, the predicted amount of rain decreases a bit to 0.5 inches to 0.7 inches in Thermal.

Meanwhile, parts of the Inland Empire look like they are going to be hit pretty hard with rain, with San Bernardino predicted to get two inches of rain and Beaumont could see as much as three inches.

As for the local mountains, and this is where things get crazy, they could see as much as two to four feet of snow…in April!

Things do look pretty nice at the tail end of the week as the storm pushes out.  By Thursday, skies should be clear in the Coachella Valley with a high of about 78.  Saturday will then warm up to the low 80s and the forecast calls for the high 80s by Sunday.
