Police investigating fight at Palm Springs restaurant as possible hate crime

The Palm Springs Police Department is investigating a fight that broke at Wangs in the Desert as a possible hate crime.

The incident occurred on Friday, October 4 a little after 7 pm, according to the Palm Springs Police Department. A physical fight occurred inside the restaurant between three people.

One of the three is believed to be the primary suspect and is described as a Hispanic or White male adult, late 20 to early 30s, approximately six feet tall, with dark short hair, wearing a light colored baseball cap, a tan long sleeve shirt and dark pants.

Investigators are looking into the actions of the unidentified suspect during the fight and believe this incident may be a hate crime. They ask anyone who witnessed the fight to call PSPD Detective Escallada at 760-323-8129.
