Police arrest IE man for putting a kitten in a freezer, throwing it off a balcony

Police arrested a man for animal cruelty in Fontana after he allegedly placed a kitten in a freezer, then threw the adorable furry creature off a second-story balcony.

Police were called about 2:45 am Tuesday about a man assaulting a kitten that was just 3 to 4 months old. Witnesses told police that a man put a kitten in a freezer, according to ABC 7. The man then took the kitten out of the freezer and began squeezing the kitten’s body as it cried out in pain.

The man then allegedly threw the kitten off a second story balcony.  The kitten suffered injuries including a collapsed lung and a fractured a leg.

Police arrested 34-year-old Lucio Lopez for animal cruelty and an outstanding warrant.

“The kitten (who has been named Olive) is doing as well as could be, but will need surgery and much needed love,” Fontana Police said in a news release.
