A 21-year-old Denver man was arrested in connection with a shooting of a 32-year-old woman at the Royal Plaza Inn in Indio on January 15.
Aaron Drayer was arrested in San Bernardino the same day as the shooting, reports KESQ. Police say he was hiding in a bathroom at a San Bernardino home.
Police were called to the Royal Plaza Inn on Highway 111 about 2 am on January 15, where they discovered the body of 32-year-old Lilliana Yanez Arellano, who appeared to have been shot, according to the Desert Sun.
Authorities say they waited until Monday to release the name of the suspect and victim as police needed to located and interview potential witnesses.
A GoFundMe page for Arellano has raised over $2,000 to help pay for funeral expenses.
