The weekend storm that brought record rainfall and chaos to Southern California hit The High Desert especially hard.

Highway 62 was shut down for nearly two hours Sunday afternoon when the road become flooded from Rotary Way to Whitefeather Road in Joshua Tree, reports Z107.7. Joshua Tree National Park’s reported impassable dirt roads and a a tornado(!) was spotted in the Landers area – with no damage reported.

Things got especially hairy for these two guys driving in Joshua Tree.

Here are videos and photos from the rainy weekend in The High Desert:

Ouch, poor road. #joshuatree #desertliving #flashflood #aftertherain #dirtroad
