The people who charge $10k for a Palm Springs star would like to do the same in Indio

The people behind the Palm Springs Walk of Stars have proposed having a similar program in the city of Indio.

The non-profit that operates the Palm Springs Walk of Stars discussed their plan for downtown Indio with the city council Wednesday night, reports the Desert Sun. The organization wants the city to loan it thirty grand to get started, but would pay it back once the first three stars are sold, err I mean the first three people are, ummm, honored with stars.

So who would get a star? Well, other than people with an extra 10 grand lying around and  those who have a certain local developer on speed dial, possible names thrown out included ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones because they played at Indio festivals *sigh* and some council members suggested a symbol other than a star be used, like a music symbol *sigh again*.

The city is, of course, considering the proposal.
