Pieology is coming to Rancho Mirage – wait, Rancho Mirage? – (switches browser tab to make sure, switches browser tab back) yes, Rancho Mirage.
The fast casual chain, owned by Carl Chang – brother of pro tennis player Michael Chang – began out of what was perceived to be a problem with the pizza industry.
“Pizza for us was somewhat broken,” Chang, told Business Insider. “Pizza used to be a celebration when you were with family and friends … now it somewhat has become a bit more [of a] convenience food or a coupon food if you will.”
Pieology gives customers a load of choices for the pizza – with 40 toppings to choose from and options for crust and cheese. Each custom pizza is ready in minutes and costs eight bucks or less.
According to Dine Rancho Mirage, the location – inside the Rancho Las Palmas shopping center – is slated to open in June.
