Palm Springs hotel bartender arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting guest

A 30-year-old Desert Hot Springs man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a guest in their room at the Kimpton Rowan hotel in Palm Springs.

Alejandro Adan was arrested at the hotel on Sunday. Investigators with the Palm Springs Police Department say Adan served the victim drinks over the course of the day while working behind the bar. At some point, the victim’s purse went missing which also contained her room key.

The victim later returned to her hotel room that afternoon, where she fell asleep. According to PSPD, the victim then awoke to Adan sexually assaulting her.

The victim was able to get away and find help. Adan was detained inside the hotel room by a relative of the victim until police arrived.

Adan was arrested for alleged allegations of burglary, sexual penetration with foreign object, rape, and sexual battery.

The hotel’s general manager offered the following statement to KESQ:

The safety and security of our guests and employees is our top priority. We are conducting our own investigation and are in full cooperation with law enforcement on this matter. We cannot comment further as this is an ongoing police investigation.
