Palm Springs High water polo players ‘mortified’ by ‘naked man’ showering in women’s locker room

A group of water polo players from Palm Springs High School have gone public after they say they recently encountered a “naked man” showering in the women’s locker room area leaving them “traumatized.”

Christine Foster, a parent of a 17-year-old senior on the team, told KESQ that her daughter and two teammates saw the person as they entered the locker room after practice, which tool place at the Palm Springs Swim Center – which is operated by the city.

“They were mortified, scared, and traumatized quite honestly.” Foster told the TV station. “These girls don’t have experience with the male physique.” Foster added that she believed that the man was a “predator.”

According to the report, coaches confronted the person who told them they were in the locker room because they identified as female.

Police were called but did not pursue a case.

The city of Palm Springs has now offered a temporary solution that will see the installation of a “unisex” shower near the locker rooms at the swim center and are looking to install dividers between each showers in the locker rooms. The city attorney has also asked to present a new policy within 30 days regarding the situation.
