4th of July weekend is upon us and it is time to celebrate “Murica in The Desert! Events call for a ton of fireworks, hot dogs, and a did I mention the temperature is going to be 110 degrees! Here is your roundup:
Fireworks All The Time
Traditionally, 4th of July fireworks shows are staged on The 4th of July – you know, because it is The 4th of July!! But that standard does not apply in The Coachella Valley as you can see fireworks every day this weekend:
- Thursday July 3rd at Fantasy Springs Resort
- Friday, July 4th in Palm Desert and Palm Springs (but not La Quinta!)
- Saturday, July 5th in Desert Hot Springs (I am assuming they are looking to get a good deal at Day After Fireworks Sales)
The best 4th of July party may be, in all of places, Beaumont. Their Friday festivities include not only fireworks and temperatures 15 degrees cooler than Palm Springs – but a free concert featuring Eddie Money, who is taking an off day from working his travel agency
Eat Hot Dogs, Win Money
Friday, Augustine Casino hosts their first ever hot dog eating contest. Contestants will go head to head to see who can down a pound and a half of wieners in the fastest time for a chance to win $1,000 – which will most likely all be spent on Tums.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Art Garfunkel drops by Fantasy Springs on Saturday night.
Yoga-Brau
The thing about yoga is that while it may be great for the body and soul there is just never any beer…until now. Sunday, Coachella Valley Brewing teams up with yoga instructors to offer Yoga-Brau: a one hour of yoga followed by a flight of beer in the taproom.
Now go on out there and celebrate the greatest country in the world!
