Heatwave: Palm Springs broke a record today…just not THAT record

Yes. It was hot as balls (technical term) in the Coachella Valley on Monday. In fact, the 122 degree high in Palm Springs smashed the former record for the day which was 118 back in 1929. Yet somehow, as hot as it was, Monday was still not the hottest day in the history of the Coachella Valley.

I know. Believe it or not, it has actually been hotter than this! The temperature has hit 123 four different times – the most recent being twice in 1995.

And it was not just Palm Springs setting records.  Indio and Thermal did too, along with plenty of other cities in SoCal:

Tomorrow is supposed to “cool down” to 112 degrees – which, by comparison, sounds downright frigid.
