Mother punishes 3 kids by leaving them alone in the desert without water, shoes

Police arrested a mother and her boyfriend on Wednesday after they left their three children alone in the desert without shoes or water.

Authorities in Twentynine Palms responded to a report of three kids alone near Samarkand Drive, according to the Desert Sun. Police discovered the 7-year-old girl, 6-year-old boy, and and 5-year-old boy were left in the desert alone by their mom and her boyfriend for what police say was for “disciplinary purposes”.

The mother and boyfriend were found in their car on the same street where the children were found, according to KESQ. They had been living in the vehicle.

Police arrested Mary Bell, 34 and Gary Cassle, 29, for felony child abuse.

The kids were taken into custody of Children and Family Services.
