A Morongo Valley man was arrested late Thursday night after police say that he intentionally rammed his car into a truck that his ex-girlfriend was riding in.

James Santana, 35, saw his ex-girlfriend shortly before midnight Thursday riding in a Ford 250 pickup truck being driven by another man on Highway 62 near North Star Road, reports Z107.7.

Santana then deliberately drove his 1998 Toyota RAV4 into the side of the Ford, say police. After ramming the truck, Santana pulled the driver out and attacked him.

Bystanders tried to pull Santana off of the man – but Santana threatened them with a rock.

Police arrested Santana on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon likely to produce great bodily injury and committing another crime while out on bail.
