Morongo Elementary lockdown after threatening Facebook post

A lockdown was placed on Morongo Valley Elementary School Wednesday morning because of a threatening Facebook post.

The lockdown began when students arrived and was lifted after about an hour, reports the Desert Sun. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.

The post featured a rifle and read, “Just bought this puppy from the gun store today finna test it out at the shooting range & then ima carry out an attack where i will kill many innocent civilians for the islamic state of iraq” it was followed by a smiling emoji and “bismillah… allahu akbar.”

The person who posted the threat is a Morongo Valley local, according to Z107.7.

There are now 368 comments on the post, which is still up, with most of them, understandable, expressing anger.

Update: A Morongo Valley man was arrested for making threats and weapons charges.
