$222,720 worth of meth found in minivan in Indio

Over 55 pounds of meth was found by Border Patrol agents this weekend in a minivan after making a traffic stop in Indio.

About 3 p.m. on Sunday, police stopped a 2005 Honda Odyssey on westbound Interstate 10. When they took the vehicle to the Indio Border Patrol station, agents found 35 bundles of meth hidden beneath the car’s floor boards, according to KESQ.

The street value of the meth was estimated to be $222,720.

The 31-year-old driver and her 25-year-old male passenger were arrested. Their names have not been released.
