Headed out of town for the three-day weekend? Apparently, So is everybody else.

Traffic is going to, and this is a technical term, suck-ass starting as early as today – so yeah, so much for getting a jump on it. Via the Desert Sun:

The number of travelers is expected to be at its highest since 2005. According to the Automobile Club of Southern California, 2.89 million Southern California residents are expected to travel by car. In 2005, 3.2 million people hit the road.

Top destinations include the Grand Canyon, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Yosemite National Park.

Hey you know what was not mentioned there?  Your couch!  Yeah, no traffic there.  Just comfy cushions and your best friend the Netflix remote.

And don’t go thinking that flying is going to be any easier.  The Daily Bulletin notes that LAX will be the busiest airport in the nation this weekend with long lines expected at the TSA.

If you are staying in town, here are a few things going on in town that, luckily, don’t involve you and the fam sitting in your car for 10 hours.
