A marriage proposal is a special, life changing moment for any couple. It is the kind of moment that might be a bit tarnished by a helicopter rescue and an arrest for meth.

Michael Banks, 27 of Fresno, climbed the 600-foot Morro Rock on the central California coast early Thursday and asked his girlfriend, via the Facetime app, to marry him, reports the LA Times.

The good news: she said yes. The bad news: everything else.

Banks had to be rescued by helicopter on his way down as he became stuck – during which rescue crews noticed he was acting weird.

He was eventually arrested for possessing methamphetamine.
