Man arrested for robbing Indio Denny’s

A man was arrested after police say he robbed the Indio Denny’s with a steak knife.

A witness told KESQ that an unidentified man asked a server at the restaurant for a steak knife a little before noon, then used that steak knife to commit the robbery.

The suspect, described as a white man with long thin hair, held employees at knifepoint and demanded money. The employees handed over an undisclosed amount, which was followed by a confrontation and the suspect attacked both employees with the knife.

The employees sustained minor injuries.

The suspect fled the scene in a white mid-sized van. Indio Police spotted the vehicle a little more than an hour later and the man was arrested.
