Man arrested for multiple indecent exposure incidents in Beaumont and Banning

A Banning man was arrested on Wednesday after police say he was involved in several indecent exposure cases in Beaumont and Banning over the past six months.

A Beaumont Police officer on patrol located a vehicle and driver that matched the description of a wanted subject near the 2nd Street Marketplace, according to a press release.

The officer detained Silas Matthew Brown, age 24, of Banning. Brown and his vehicle were positively identified by one victim as the suspect in a case of indecent exposure that happened on March 18.

Additional victims from previous cases reported that a black male adult driving a silver or red vehicle approached them, asked for directions and exposed himself while seated in his vehicle.

Brown is currently a sex registrant for a past sexual battery charge and was on probation during the March incident.

Brown was arrested for indecent exposure, violation of probation, and was booked at Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.

Police believe there may be more victims and ask anyone with more information to contact Officer Lee at the Beaumont Police Department at 951-769-8500.
