Man arrested for firing shots in the air during domestic argument in Palm Springs

A Desert Hot Springs man was arrested Monday night after police day he fired several shots into the air during a domestic argument.

Police were called to Paseo Barbara a little before 10 pm for reports of shots fired in the area and the sounds of a woman screaming, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

Officers determined that during an argument between a man and a woman, the man retrieved a handgun and fired several shots into the air. He then left the location, but was later found at another location by officers.

Stuart McRobert was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with felony discharge of a firearm in a negligent manner.

The firearm was recovered from McRobert’s vehicle.
