A 25-year-old La Quinta man was arrested on Tuesday after police say he broke into a Palm Springs liquor store and stole cigarettes and lottery scratchers.

At about 6:00 am, a man, identified as Cole Sanders, forcefully entered the Locomotive Liquor Store located on East Palm Canyon Drive while it was closed through a hole in the ceiling, according to a release from the Palm Springs Police Department.

Sanders stole several cartons of cigarettes and some California Lottery scratchers, then went back out through the roof, say police.

Sanders was located at 4:50 pm at Sunrise Park and was detained him without incident. He was arrested for burglary, probation violation, and receiving stolen property.

No word on how he did with those lottery scratchers.
