Man arrested after truck drives completely through house in Twentynine Palms

A man was arrested in Twentynine Palms on Sunday night after police say he drove a truck drove completely through a home.

Police were called about 9:07 pm to Morongo Road after multiple reports of a vehicle that had just crashed into a residence. During the investigation, it was discovered a 2010 Chevy Silverado 2500HD truck was traveling westbound on Sun Valley Drive when it crashed into the residence located on the west side of Morongo Road, according to officials.

The pick-up truck drove completely through the residence and into the backyard of the neighboring home on Mariposa Avenue. The driver, later identified as Phillip Valenzuela was detained by deputies when he attempted to flee the scene on foot.

Valenzuela was transported by ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for treatment of his injuries sustained from the collision. Valenzuela was arrested and later cited for Driving Under the Influence.

No one was in the home at the time of the crash.
