Man arrested with $1,500 of shoplifted Walmart items after stolen getaway truck won’t start

A man was arrested in the Yucca Valley Walmart parking lot after police say he stole $1,475 worth of items from the store, then was unable to flee as his stolen getaway truck wouldn’t start.

Julian Sarkissian, 29, went through the store about 1 pm on Thursday, putting items into his cart, reports Z107.7. An employee became suspicious and kept an eye on him, eventually watching him walk out of the store without paying.

Police were called and arrived to find Sarkissian unable to start a Nissan Frontier that deputies found had been reported stolen.

Sarkissian was arrested for investigation of felony grand theft.
