Could the Oakland Raiders be moving…to Las Vegas?

The Oakland Raiders, recently shut out by NFL owners from moving to Los Angeles, may have a hell of a plan B: Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports the Mark Davis, owner of the Raiders, will meet with Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson tomorrow to discuss a new domed stadium in Sin City:

Casino giant Las Vegas Sands Corp. is leading a consortium of investors that is proposing to build a $1 billion domed stadium on 42 acres near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas that would be home to school’s football team — and possibly a National Football League franchise.

Andy Abboud, Las Vegas Sands’ senior vice president of government relations and community development said Thursday Las Vegas needs a modern stadium with at least 65,000 seats to drive additional tourism to Southern Nevada.

And while a weekend trip to Vegas would only be enhanced with an NFL team in town (just think of all the Packers fans stoked to head out for a weekend road game in December), there is that whole sports gambling thing that would have to be resolved.

But then, the NFL seems pretty stoked on Draft Kings and Fan Duel, so who knows.

What do you think, Raider fans?  Let me know in the comments below.
