Hey guys, you will never believe who reads Cactus Hugs?
Why, none other than former KMIR Weather Guesser Geoff Fox – who appears to have been holding back some anger and frustration with our humble little website for mentioning he is really in a garage in Irvine. But, seeing as how Ginger Jeffries is bringing her large weather talents to KMIR and replacing Fox, he decided to unload.
Fox took to the Cactus Hugs Facebook page to rant a bit (note, if you are on mobile it might be easier to read on Facebook, just make sure you come back for the insightful commentary). This goes on for a bit, so make sure you have a beverage and maybe even a sandwich.

Now, I should point out here…yes, Fox did reach out to me with a couple of emails , and he is correct that I did not respond. But, what the hell am I supposed to say to this?

That was the whole email! What the hell do I say to that?
A couple of months later, I received this:
I very much would like to speak with you, off-the-record to start. I’m an interesting guy.

Seriously, I stared at this email for like 5 minutes because I couldn’t even come up with the words to tell the wife about it, let alone respond. So if I am a dick for not responding, than I am a dick for not responding. But, you may also notice, there was no offer of a studio tour Fox says he gave, so I guess we are both terrible.
Anyhoo, back to the Facebook exchange, this was my response to Fox:

Let’s just stop all this there. I do feel bad for the guy. As anyone who has ever been fired knows, getting shit canned at work really sucks.
Who knows, maybe the people of Nebraska will love having him do the weather from Irvine and maybe they won’t. They should probably be told that is where he is though, as no one likes to be deceived – and really, if KMIR had just been honest from the beginning, maybe Geoff would still be there? But, there is really no way to know that now.
In the end, let us not miss the most important part of all in this, Geoff Fox said people who work at KMIR (a real life TV news station) read Cactus Hugs and that they are petrified of you!!!
